Jakob's Blessing Day - November 6, 2011

  Jakob's blessing day.

We tried to get some pictures of everyone before church, while the kids were still freshly dressed. It went... well, it went as well as could be expected. :) The goal, of course, was to have all four kids looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. In the first one, it looks like we got three out of four (looking, at least).

 Two out of four for this one.

I don't blame Avary for closing her eyes, as Jakob was sneezing in the general direction of her face.

 Not too shabby, although Sam somehow managed to make his nostrils roughly the size of his eyes at the moment this one was taken.

There we go. I can't tell if Jakob is looking at the camera, but I'll take it. Three kids are smiling :)

We tried to get a family picture inside. We probably should have just quite while we were ahead. :) In this one, Mike and I are trying to convince Will to look at the camera, which he was adamantly refusing to do. Avary and Sam look absolutely thrilled.

Um... okay, we give up. 

So, the pictures may not do it justice, but it was a special day. The kids were excited about Jakob being blessed, and Jakob didn't make a peep throughout the entire blessing, which surprised me. It was nice to have Grammy with us too, but we would have loved to be able to share the special day with other family as well. Oh well, that's the way it is when there is an entire ocean between us and them. 

I'm thankful that Mike has had the opportunity to bless each of our babies. It's a blessing for all of us!
