Sunshine Farms (October 21, 2010)

In October we went on an outing with our homeschool group to Sunshine Pumpkin Patch. It's in one of the tiny villages in this area. Before going to the pumpkin patch, we got to go on a little tour of the rest of the farm. Our first stop was the cows.

Then, the horses (there were two in there).

Avary helped give the horse a snack.

Checking out the baby cows.

Next we saw the chicken coop and pig pen.

Those pigs were excited to see us, and Will loved them. He touched some piggy snouts.

Then we got to go outside and run around with some chickens.

Will slipped and fell in the mud a few times. I had nothing to wipe his hands off with, and just hoped that he wouldn't stick his hands in his mouth. :)

Avary was happy when a couple of sheep came out to see what was going on.

Then it was time to wait for our tractor trailer ride to the pumpkin patch.

That was our ride.

Unfortunately, that day was freezing... one of the first really cold days we'd had. I was not expecting it to be so cold, so I didn't bring hats and mittens for the kids. We were all very cold on the ride, and by the time we got our pumpkin, rode back to the farm and got in our car, the kids were freezing and miserable. Hopefully, they remember the good parts, though. :)

Looking for a pumpkin to take home. Looks like Avary had a heavy one. :)

It was a lot of fun (besides being freezing). I think we'll go back next year.
